Obituary

Karen Frances Jordan was born December 22 nd , 1959 in Belleville, NJ to Jennie and Chester Biggers. She spent her early formative years growing up in Newark, NJ and later moved to Hillside NJ where she attended and graduated from Hillside High School. Shortly thereafter she found professional employment working for Exxon in an administrative capacity where her diligence was noted by senior management. A few years later Karen was blessed with a child of her own and put immense effort in improving her aspirations. As her career continued on Karen found herself working at AT&T Bell labs during the research and development era that would lead the world from analog to digital. It was during this time she began to master skills in management, logistics and administration transitioning to Lucent technologies as a Project specialist. In 1989 Karen accepted Christ into her life at Frankling St John UMC under the leadership of Rev Dr. Lloyd Preston Terrell. With her love for the Lord in the forefront she began teaching Sunday school, led a sermon, and engaged in youth ministries throughout her years. She contributed to her community by teaching ESL and basic skills in neighborhood programs to offer those in need a chance to excel outside of their predetermined barriers.

As one who was brilliant in education Karen decided to return to her own education achieving further honors including Magna Cum Laude as she achieved her Associates Degree, her Bachelor’s degree in Business and her Masters certification in Project management. These achievements along with her rich work history made her highly sought after as she continued her career in telecom with Nextel/Sprint & later as she transitioned to federal work at Picatinny Arsenal for Sub-system technologies and SMS Data products from which she retired. Karen later launched a successful contracting business that she operated following her leave from SMS. Aside from her efforts in work and helping others excel, Karen spent much of her time traveling the world, visiting many nations in the Caribbean, Europe, the US and several countries in Africa including Egypt and Israel. As a woman of the people, she extended her understanding of God and connected with any whom would listen with an open heart. When she wasn’t on the road, she kept herself busy celebrating life, meeting new family members and taking in those to her home and heart were willing to lock hands in her journey through life. This led her to have more children, friends and family than she had already been blessed with. She extended God’s grace through her care for others. Karen was the master of showing love and telling you about yourself at the same time. Let her words be of comfort. “To God Be the Glory” “Adios” Our Dearly Beloved, until we meet again you are here in spirit!
